


The District Narcotics Control Department arrested a 32-year-old man with 102 pieces of Yaba in Lohagara upazila of Narail on Saturday.
The arrestee, identified as Md. Sabuj Kazi, is the son of Akhtar Kazi from Khashiyal village under Naragati Police Station.
According to narcotics officials and local sources, acting on a tip-off, a team led by Sub-Inspector (SI) Abbas Uddin detained Sabuj at around 12:00 PM in front of a sweet shop near the upazila veterinary hospital. A subsequent search revealed the contraband pills in his possession.
A local sweet shopkeeper noted that Sabuj was arrested just as he was asking to buy a cup of yogurt from the shop.
SI Abbas Uddin stated that the suspect has been handed over to Lohagara Police Station, and a case has been filed against him under the Narcotics Control Act.
Lohagara Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Abdur Rahman confirmed the matter, adding that the suspect has been forwarded to the court following standard legal proceedings.
