


Police arrested a man and his son with 300 Yaba tablets from the Bhadulidanga area of Narail Sadar Upazila on Friday midnight.
The arrestees are Shariful Islam (55) and his son Bappi Sahariar (35). According to police, the duo collectively face 11 existing drug-related cases.
Narail Sadar Police Station Inspector (Investigation) Ajay Kumar Kundu confirmed the arrests on Saturday afternoon.
Police said a team from the Sadar Police Outpost, led by Sub-Inspector (SI) Gopal Chandra Sarkar, intercepted the father and son in front of a nursery adjacent to the Jashore-Narail highway. During a search, officers recovered 200 Yaba tablets from Shariful’s pants pocket and 100 tablets from Bappi’s Punjabi pocket.
Records show Shariful is accused in three drug cases, while his son faces eight. Inspector Kundu added that a new case has been filed against them under the Narcotics Control Act, and they have been forwarded to court.
