Police have arrested two more suspects in connection with the murder of Mainuddin, a young man who was lured from his home and killed over a land dispute in Borhanuddin, Bhola.
The arrested individuals, Md. Belal Hossain (27) and Md. Tanjil (24), are both sons of Faizullah from Chotopata village in the upazila. A Bhola court sent both suspects to jail on Wednesday (June 10).
Mainuddin was brutally hacked to death on the afternoon of May 29. Following the killing, the victim's father, Md. Nesarullah, filed a murder case at the Borhanuddin Police Station. Police arrested the fifth accused in the case, Md. Bazlu, shortly after the incident, but the remaining suspects went into hiding.
Using digital intelligence, a police team led by Sub-Inspector (SI) Md. Nazrul Islam tracked the absconding suspects to the capital region. On June 8, with the assistance of RAB-2, police arrested the second accused, Belal Hossain, from the Mohammadpur area of Dhaka.
Later that same day, police and RAB-11 conducted a coordinated raid in Narayanganj and arrested the third accused, Tanjil, from the Kanchpur Wabda Colony area of Siddhirganj. Both suspects were brought back to Bhola on the night of June 9 to face trial.
Confirming the development, Borhanuddin Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Md. Moniruzzaman stated, "While one suspect was apprehended immediately after the murder, the others fled. Through a joint operation utilizing digital tracking, we successfully located and arrested two primary suspects from Dhaka and Narayanganj."
