Railway authorities conducted an eviction drive to clear illegal structures from public land near the Naldanga Railway Station in Sadullapur Upazila on Tuesday (June 9). The operation ran from 10:00 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.

During the drive, over 50 large and small illegal businesses were demolished around the station and Rail Gate No. 1.

Bangladesh Railway Lalmonirhat Divisional Executive Magistrate Md. Munjurul Islam led the operation, supported by the Railway Police and Sadullapur Police Station.

Railway Surveyor Abdur Razak stated that local businessmen had illegally occupied the land for an extended period. Despite repeated notices and public announcements via loudspeakers in surrounding areas, including Naldanga Port, the occupants failed to vacate the premises.

Magistrate Munjurul Islam confirmed the eviction, noting it was completed peacefully with full cooperation from law enforcement. He added that the railway's drive to reclaim public land from illegal encroachers will continue across the division.

Railway Field Kanungo Md. Forkan was also present during the operation.
