

A total of 21 mobile teams and six striking teams will be deployed in Lakshmipur to maintain law and order during the Sharadiya Durga Puja-2026 celebrations.
The district’s six police stations and the Detective Branch (DB) have been instructed to strengthen security around Puja mandaps and take strict action to deal with any untoward situation.
The information was disclosed at a meeting on law and order arrangements for Durga Puja organised by Lakshmipur District Police on Wednesday (October 7) afternoon. Lakshmipur Superintendent of Police Md Abu Tarek chaired the meeting.
According to the meeting, Durga Puja will be celebrated at 78 Puja mandaps across Lakshmipur district this year.
Police personnel have been instructed to remain on the highest alert to prevent any deterioration in the law and order situation during the festivities. Regular patrols around Puja mandaps and surrounding areas will be intensified, alongside increased intelligence surveillance.
Additional Superintendent of Police (Administration and Finance) Hossain Mohammad Raihan Kazemi, PPM-Seva, officers-in-charge of all police stations in the district, leaders of the district Puja Udjapan Parishad, presidents and general secretaries of various Puja mandaps, and senior district police officials attended the meeting.
Leaders of the Puja Udjapan Parishad raised various problems and security-related concerns during the meeting.
The police administration assured them of all-out cooperation to ensure that Durga Puja is celebrated peacefully and in a festive atmosphere.
