Madhukhali Football Tournament Held to Engage Local Youth

A six-team football tournament was held in Madhukhali, Faridpur, to encourage young people to participate in sports and keep them away from drugs, violence and social degradation.

The final match was held at 5pm Tuesday at a playground adjacent to Imam Bari, organised by the youth of Ward 2 of Madhukhali Municipality.

The match was inaugurated by Md Raihan Molla, member secretary of Madhukhali Municipal Jubo Dal. Among others present were Md Masud Sheikh, vice-president of Ward 2 BNP, Shahjahan Sheikh, Md Zubayer Sheikh, Md Pannu Sheikh, Hafez Mahmudul Hasan and Epiar Sheikh.

The final was contested between the football teams of Ward 2 and Ward 3 of the municipality.

The tournament drew a large crowd of local spectators, creating an enthusiastic atmosphere throughout the event. The final ended in a 2-2 draw, after which Ward 2 defeated Ward 3 in a penalty shootout to win the title.

At the end of the tournament, trophies and medals were presented to the champions and runners-up.
