Drug Dealer Arrested with 55 Yaba Tablets in Nalchiti

The District Detective Branch (DB) arrested 38-year-old Sanjeev Biswas with 55 Yaba tablets during a raid in the Nalchiti municipal area of Jhalakathi on Friday night (June 5).

Acting on a tip-off, a DB team apprehended Biswas outside a house near Madan Mohan Akhra, at the intersection of Sabujbagh and Hospital Connection Road in Ward 4. A search revealed the illegal drugs in his possession.

Biswas, son of the late Rabindra Biswas, is a local resident. Police stated that initial investigations suggest he has been heavily involved in regional drug trafficking for an extended period.

The recovered Yaba was seized, and a case under the Narcotics Control Act is currently being filed at the Nalchiti Police Station.

District DB officials reaffirmed their commitment to eradicating local drug networks and urged the public to actively report any drug-related activities to law enforcement.
