Abdul Rahim Mallick has refuted allegations made against him during a recent human chain in Nalchiti, calling them false, misleading, and defamatory.
Speaking at a press conference at the Nalchiti Press Club on Monday morning, Mallick claimed a rival group is trying to tarnish his reputation by labeling him a "litigator" over an ongoing land dispute.
In a written statement, Mallick explained the conflict centers on specific plots in Gouripasha Mouza (Khatian No. 60). After returning from years abroad, he measured the land and asserted his family's rightful ownership. He stated that despite a favorable court ruling, the opposing party refuses to accept the decision.
Mallick further alleged that his rivals have physically attacked his family and launched a planned smear campaign against him. He urged authorities to take legal action to stop the harassment. Additionally, he accused Abdul Quader Mallick of fraudulently selling the disputed land to multiple buyers, noting that a case regarding this is currently pending.
In response, Gias Mallick and Quader Mallick denied the claims entirely, calling them baseless and motivated.
"He is filing one case after another to harass local residents over land disputes," they said in a statement. "The affected people organized the human chain program specifically to protest his actions."
The dispute remains unresolved as conflicting claims from both sides await further court proceedings.
