Landowner Kamal Hossain has alleged that his cropland soil was cut and sold at a brick kiln in Paikgachha, Khulna. A Jain man named Shahinur Rahman cut the soil with a crowbar on Saturday night, January 24, and legal action is being taken in this regard, said the affected landowner Kamal.
BNP leader Kamal Hossain, son of the late Alhaj Abdul Gafur Gazi of Srikanthpur village of the upazila, said that I and my wife Shahanara Parveen have 72 hundred acres of land in the name of Chak Chandmukhi Mouza, adjacent to the Matham Gate of Laskar Union. According to the purchase document, I have been peacefully occupying this land for 20 years. I have all the necessary documents including registration and registration. This is cropland. Paddy and fish are cultivated on this land. Suddenly, late on Saturday night, I came to know that a Jain named Shahinur Rahman, a person from the area adjacent to the land, was cutting the soil of my land with a shovel and selling it to a brick kiln. I immediately called him and asked him to stop cutting the soil.
At that time, he told me that he would stop cutting the soil. Then, on Sunday morning, when I went to the land, I saw that a canal-like ditch had been dug in the land and the soil had been supplied to the brick kiln overnight. Kamal Hossain alleged that many others were involved with Shahinur in this work. Kamal Hossain, the owner of the affected land, said that legal action will be taken against those involved in cutting the soil in this regard. Shahinur could not be reached when contacted as his mobile phone was switched off.
