Students and public have formed a human chain in Nalchiti, Jhalakathi demanding that Inquilab Mancha spokesperson and potential independent MP candidate for Dhaka-8 constituency, Shaheed Sharif Osman Hadi's sister Masuma Hadi be a candidate for that constituency.
They formed the human chain at the bus stand intersection in the municipal town at 12 noon on Friday (December 26). Md. Nazmul Hasan Titu, Sathi Akhter, MN Mamun, Asif Zia, Abdur Razzak, Md. Sirajul Islam, Mohammad Miraj, Md. Ahad, Omar Faruk, and Abu Hanif spoke at the human chain.
The speakers said, Shaheed Sharif Osman Hadi, the spokesperson of the Inqilab Mancha, a talented son of Nalchiti, was a potential candidate for the Dhaka-8 constituency in the 13th National Parliament election. But he had to give his life while speaking against the fascists. He fought for justice and to establish democracy in the country. He wanted to go to the parliament and speak for justice, for the people and against fascism. But the assassins stopped him. But we want Shaheed Osman Hadi's fight for the country, the people and justice to live on and be vibrant.
Today he is not among us. But he lives in our minds and memories and will remain so for life. He is the pride of this country. Someone from his family has to turn around at this moment to keep his ideals alive. We see the reflection of Osman Hadi in his sister Masuma Hadi. That is why we want to see Masuma Hadi as a candidate for parliamentarianship in the Dhaka-8 constituency in the 13th National Parliament election. The countrymen also want this. They also said, "We hope that Masuma Hadi will fulfill her brother's dream by running for that seat and fighting against Adityaism and for justice."
Osman Hadi's younger sister Masuma Hadi said, "I have nothing personal to say at this moment. However, if the decision is made by the Inqilab Manch and the family, I am willing to run for this election."
