The Bangladesh Football Federation (BFF) has appointed German-American tactician Thomas Dooley as the new head coach of the national men's football team.
The former US national team captain has already arrived in Dhaka to take charge. The BFF officially confirmed his appointment through a press release on its verified Facebook page on Friday morning.
Bringing over 43 years of global football experience, Dooley is recognized for his ability to build teams from the ground up. He already possesses a strong track record in Asian football, having previously led the Philippines to a historic unbeaten run in the AFC Asian Cup qualifiers and guiding the nation to its highest-ever FIFA ranking. Most recently, he served as the head coach of Guyana, maintaining a perfect winning record across his four matches in charge.
As a player, the veteran defender represented the United States in the 1994 FIFA World Cup and captained the squad during the 1998 tournament. Following his playing career, Dooley served as the US national team assistant coach under Jürgen Klinsmann from 2011 to 2014.
