


BNP Secretary General and Local Government Minister Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir arrived in the Chinese capital, Beijing, today for a state visit following an official invitation from the Chinese government.
Upon arrival at Beijing International Airport, Mirza Fakhrul was received by the Bangladesh Ambassador to China, Md. Nazmul Islam, alongside senior embassy officials and Chinese government representatives.
The Minister departed from Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport in Dhaka on a scheduled China Airlines flight at 10:10 PM last night (Sunday). He is accompanied by his Assistant Private Secretary, Yunus Ali. Prior to his departure, Chinese Ambassador to Bangladesh Yao Wen met with the Minister at the airport to formalize the farewell and discuss strengthening bilateral ties.
During the visit, Mirza Fakhrul is scheduled to hold high-level bilateral meetings. The primary focus of the trip is to enhance cooperation between Bangladesh and China regarding local government modernization, rural development, and the expansion of the cooperative sector.
Ambassador Md. Nazmul Islam noted that all arrangements are in place, expressing confidence that the visit will further solidify the friendly relations between the two nations.
