Sylhet district may experience gusty winds reaching up to 60 km/h by noon today (Sunday), according to the Bangladesh Meteorological Department.
In a river port forecast issued from 5:00 am to 1:00 pm, meteorologist Md. Toriful Newaz Kabir warned that temporary gusty or squally winds could blow from the west or northwest at speeds of 45–60 km/h. Rain and thunderstorms are also likely during this period.
Due to the risk of adverse weather, river ports in Sylhet have been advised to display warning signal number one.
A separate weather update said daytime temperatures in Rangpur, Mymensingh, and Sylhet divisions may drop by 1–3°C, while temperatures elsewhere are expected to remain largely unchanged. Night temperatures in these regions may fall slightly, with minimal change in other parts of the country.
The forecast valid until 6:00 pm indicates that rain or thundershowers, accompanied by gusty winds and lightning, may occur in parts of Rangpur, Mymensingh, and Sylhet divisions. Isolated rainfall is also possible in Rajshahi, Dhaka, Khulna, and Chattogram divisions.
There is also a chance of scattered hailstorms in some areas. Elsewhere, the weather is expected to remain mainly dry with partly cloudy skies.
