The Civil Aviation Authority of Bangladesh (CAAB) has issued a strict directive banning all drone operations in and around airports, including Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport (HSIA).

The move follows a significant security breach on December 19, where unauthorized drones were operated by electronic media outlets during the reception of Inquilab Moncho leader Sharif Osman Hadi’s body.

According to a PID handout, the unauthorized flights occurred in the presence of three government advisers and other high-profile individuals. CAAB emphasized that such actions violate the Drone Registration and Flight Policy 2020 and pose "serious threats" to both national security and safe air navigation.

All media personnel and the general public have been urged to refrain from flying drones in restricted zones to ensure aviation safety.
