The body of Inqilab Moncho leader Sharif Osman Hadi returns to Dhaka today.

The body of Sharif Osman bin Hadi, the prominent spokesperson of Inqilab Moncho and a key figure of the July Uprising, is being brought back to Bangladesh today (Friday). Hadi passed away on Thursday night at Singapore General Hospital while undergoing treatment for critical gunshot wounds.

A Biman Bangladesh Airlines flight carrying his remains is expected to land in Dhaka at approximately 6:05 PM on Friday.

His first Namaz-e-Janaza was held at the Angullia Mosque in Singapore at 10:00 AM Friday.

A second funeral prayer is scheduled for Saturday after Zohr prayers at Manik Mia Avenue, Dhaka.

Hadi was a victim of a targeted attack on December 12 in Dhaka's Bijoynagar area. While traveling by rickshaw, two assailants on a motorcycle shot him at close range. He was later flown to Singapore for advanced medical care but succumbed to his injuries.

Prof. Muhammad Yunus described the loss as "irreparable" and urged the nation to stay united and calm to avoid traps set by destabilizing forces.

Major parties, including the BNP and Jamaat-e-Islami, expressed deep grief.

News of his death sparked immediate protests in Dhaka’s Shahbagh area, with citizens demanding justice for the "fiery face" of the democratic movement.
