


Bhutanese Prime Minister Tshering Tobgay arrived in Dhaka on Saturday morning, November 22, for a two-day state visit, receiving a full red-carpet welcome and state honours.
Prime Minister Tobgay's Drukair flight landed at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport (HSIA) around 8:15 am.
He was received by Bangladesh's Chief Adviser, Professor Muhammad Yunus. In a brief meeting at the VIP lounge, PM Tobgay inquired about the damage and loss of lives caused by the earthquake that struck on Friday, expressing his condolences to the victims' families.
Following the meeting, the Bhutanese Prime Minister was accorded a 19-gun salute and a full guard of honour.
PM Tobgay departed for the National Martyrs’ Memorial in Savar to pay homage to the martyrs of Bangladesh's Liberation War.6 He is scheduled to lay a wreath and sign the visitors' book.
In the afternoon, he is expected to meet with Bangladesh's foreign adviser and commerce adviser.
The main diplomatic engagement of the day is a one-on-one meeting with Chief Adviser Muhammad Yunus at his office in Tejgaon, scheduled for around 3:00 pm.
The day will conclude with PM Tobgay attending an official banquet held in his honour in the evening.
The visit is aimed at strengthening bilateral ties, with previous discussions highlighting cooperation in areas like connectivity, trade, and investment.
