Six more people have died of dengue in Bangladesh in the past 24 hours, while 2,158 patients have been hospitalised with the viral disease during the same period.
The figures were reported in the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) dengue situation update issued on Sunday, September 27. The latest 24-hour admissions are the highest single-day total recorded so far this year.
Among the newly hospitalised patients, 227 are from Barishal Division, 345 from Chattogram Division, 356 from Dhaka Division outside the city corporations, 311 from Dhaka North City Corporation and 197 from Dhaka South City Corporation.
Another 329 patients were admitted in Khulna Division, 132 in Mymensingh, 176 in Rajshahi, 73 in Rangpur and 12 in Sylhet.
With the latest deaths, Bangladesh’s dengue death toll this year has reached 225. A total of 73,694 dengue patients have been hospitalised since the beginning of 2026.
