


The Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) is set to form the government after securing an absolute majority in the 13th Parliamentary Elections. The swearing-in ceremony is scheduled for Tuesday, February 17.

According to reports from Hindustan Times, the Prime Minister will be in Mumbai on February 17 to meet with French President Emmanuel Macron, who is arriving for a three-day official visit.

Following the BNP's victory in the February 12 polls, PM Modi held a phone conversation with Tarique Rahman to offer his congratulations. The Prime Minister also shared the update on social media, expressing his support for the new leadership.
"I am delighted to speak to Tarique Rahman. I congratulate him on his remarkable victory in the elections in Bangladesh," Modi posted on X.
He further emphasized the deep-rooted ties between the two nations, reaffirming India’s commitment to regional peace and development: “As close neighbors with deep historical and cultural ties, I reiterate India’s continued commitment to peace, development, and prosperity of the people of both countries.”
