Taylor Swift surprised fans by releasing a music video for her song Elizabeth Taylor on the final day of Women’s History Month.
The track is from her 2025 album The Life of a Showgirl, and the video serves as a tribute to legendary actress Elizabeth Taylor.
The video features archival footage from Taylor’s films and public appearances, including Cleopatra, Cat on a Hot Tin Roof, A Place in the Sun, and Who’s Afraid of Virginia Woolf?. Swift does not appear in the video.
The song reflects on fame, public scrutiny, and love, drawing parallels between Swift’s life and Taylor’s. Swift has said the track explores her personal experiences through the lens of the actress’s life, whom she admires for her glamour, resilience, and complex public image.
The Life of a Showgirl, released on October 3, 2025, includes 12 tracks such as Opalite, Wood, and Actually Romantic. One of its songs, The Fate of Ophelia, became the most-streamed track in a single day on Spotify in 2025.
Swift’s companion concert film, The Official Release Party of a Show Girl, also performed strongly, debuting at number one at the US box office with $33 million in earnings. The film was screened in 540 AMC theatres across the United States and in selected international locations.
The Elizabeth Taylor music video is currently available only to premium users on Spotify and Apple Music.
