Anupam shared the news himself on his verified Facebook page on Monday (August 17). In a brief post, he announced that he and Prashmita had welcomed their son.
The announcement quickly drew an outpouring of congratulatory messages from fans and well-wishers on social media.
Speaking to Anandabazar.com, Anupam expressed his happiness and confirmed that both Prashmita and the newborn are healthy. As he was at the hospital, he reportedly could not speak at length, but his excitement over the arrival of the new member of the family was evident.
The couple had largely kept the pregnancy out of the public eye. Anupam has also generally preferred to keep his personal life away from the spotlight.
As a result, news of the arrival of their first child came as a surprise to many fans.
Anupam and Prashmita have known each other for several years. Their relationship initially began professionally before developing into friendship and eventually romance.
The couple married in 2024. Their relationship and marriage also came into the public eye relatively suddenly, and their announcement of becoming parents has similarly surprised and delighted their followers.
