


The Election Commission has completed all kinds of preparations in Chattogram ahead of the 13th National Parliament Election. The administration, law enforcement agencies and related departments have already completed their work in a coordinated manner to ensure that the voting is conducted in a fair, peaceful and festive atmosphere. As part of this, the distribution of voting equipment began on Wednesday (February 11) morning.
Although the distribution was supposed to start at 10 am, the activities officially began around 11 am after completing the necessary preparations. The election equipment required for the five parliamentary constituencies of the city was handed over to the responsible officials centered around the Chittagong District Stadium. The concerned officials received all the materials including ballot boxes, ballot papers, seals, and necessary materials for the polling booth.
Earlier, election equipment for the remote and rural constituencies of the district has been sent from the office of the Assistant Returning Officers. The work of delivering these equipment to 1,965 polling stations across the district is underway step by step. The Election Commission has confirmed that the equipment will reach all the centers within the stipulated time.
Expressing optimism about the election management, Divisional Commissioner and Returning Officer Dr. Ziauddin said that all kinds of preparations have been made so that voters can exercise their right to vote in a festive atmosphere. He also mentioned that no risk has been seen so far.
He further said that special surveillance has been kept at the polling stations identified as risky. To strengthen security, additional members of the law enforcement agencies have been deployed, extra vigilance has been taken in the transportation system and round-the-clock supervision has been taken. He also said that all the concerned organizations are working in coordination to make the election free, fair and impartial.
In all, the last stage of preparations for the election has been completed in Chattogram. Now, the concerned expect that this festival of democracy will be successfully completed through the participation of the voters.
