


The first death anniversary of Sayed Hossain Chowdhury, founder and chairman of the HRC Group, was observed in Tangail on Saturday. A memorial discussion, Milad and Doa Mahfil were organized at the Tangail Print Media Association office to honor the late industrialist.
Presided over by the association's president, Md. Jobayed Mallick Bulbul, the event was attended by local journalists, social workers, and prominent figures, representatives from various national and local newspapers. Speakers highlighted the impactful life and career of Sayed Hossain Chowdhury describing him as a visionary entrepreneur who transformed the country’s industrial landscape.
Since founding the HRC Group in 1991, his business ventures significantly contributed to Bangladesh’s economy, particularly in shipping, the tea industry, banking, media and information technology. Attendees noted that his role in large-scale employment creation would be remembered long into the future.
The event concluded with special prayers for the salvation of his soul followed by the distribution of food among guests. The prominent businessman and media personality passed away on July 15, 2025 during medical treatment in Dhaka.
