Sonaimuri police arrested two individuals with 5 kg of Marijuana during a late-night operation on Friday in Noakhali district. Acting on a tip-off, a police team conducted the raid around 1:00 AM on Bajra Shahi Mosque Road under Bajra Union.
The arrested suspects have been identified as Jahangir Alam (43) and Kausar (24), both hailing from the Chunarughat area of Habiganj district. Law enforcement officials recovered the illegal narcotics directly from their possession during the search.
Sonaimuri Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Md. Kabir Hossain confirmed that a formal case has been filed against the suspects under the Narcotics Control Act.
He emphasized that special police operations remain ongoing throughout the area to target drug trafficking, recover illegal weapons, and apprehend wanted suspects.
