The Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) provided free medical treatment and essential medicines to around 500 underprivileged men, women and children in the Boragram area of Dinajpur Sadar Upazila on Saturday.
Organized by the Phulbari Battalion (29 BGB) under the Dinajpur Sector, the humanitarian campaign took place at the Boragram Government Primary School grounds.
Colonel Mohammad Faisal Hasan Khan, Sector Commander of the Dinajpur Sector, attended as the chief guest. He highlighted that while the BGB’s primary duties involve border security and preventing smuggling, drugs and trafficking, the force remains deeply committed to social welfare and improving the lives of border communities. He emphasized that such initiatives strengthen the bond of trust between the BGB and local residents.
The medical campaign was supported by Lieutenant Colonel Mohammad Arif-uz-Zaman, medical officers, local representatives and senior BGB officials.
