5 Fake DB Robbers Arrested in Siddhirganj With Loot

Police have arrested five members of a robbery gang who operated by posing as Detective Branch (DB) officers. The arrests were made during a series of early morning raids across the Siddhirganj and Fatulla areas on Tuesday (July 7).

Acting on a tip-off, a team from Siddhirganj Police Station, led by Sub-Inspector Md. Masum Billah, launched the operation around 5:30 am. During the raids in Mitali Market and surrounding areas, police recovered a hijacked covered van and 614 stolen blankets.

The arrestees have been identified as Abdur Rahim (42), Md. Faruk alias Babu (40), Md. Rafiqul Islam (40), Abdul Gaffar (37), and Abdur Rahman (30).

Siddhirganj Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Mohammad Emdadul Haque confirmed that legal action is being taken against the detainees. He added that police operations are ongoing to apprehend other suspects involved in the robbery ring.
