FY27 Open Budget Meetings Held in Morelganj

Open budget meetings for the upcoming 2026-27 financial year were held in the Barikhali and Jiudhara unions of Bagerhat’s Morelganj upazila on Thursday.

The sessions, aimed at ensuring transparency and grassroots participation, were organized at the respective Union Parishad auditoriums in collaboration with development organizations, including Helvetas Bangladesh, CARE Bangladesh, Dorp, Uttaran, and the Sushil Samaj Network.

In the Jiudhara union, Women's UP member Salma Begum presided over the meeting, while Union Administrative Officer Prabhangshu Kumar Roy presented the proposed budget. Meanwhile, in the Barikhali union, UP Chairman Abdul Awal Khan Maharaj chaired the session, with Union Administrative Officer Biplob Kumar Das unveiling the financial plan.

Throughout the meetings, local political figures, NGO coordinators, civil society representatives, and community members engaged in open discussions, voicing their needs and priorities for the upcoming fiscal year.
