


The monthly meeting of the Paikgachha Upazila Law and Order Committee was held on Monday morning (April 13) at the Upazila Parishad auditorium.
Member of Parliament for Khulna-6, Alhaj Maulana Abul Kalam Azad, attended the meeting as chief guest. The session was chaired by Upazila Executive Officer Wasiuzzaman Chowdhury.
Among others present were Assistant Commissioner (Land) Md. Fazle Rabbi, Upazila Health and Family Planning Officer Dr. Ahsanara Binte Ahmed, Officer-in-Charge Golam Kibria, former freedom fighter commander Ruhul Amin Gazi, Upazila Agriculture Officer Ekramul Hossain, Senior Fisheries Officer Saikat Mallik, Livestock Officer Dr. Partha Pratim Roy, and local political leaders including Dr. Md. Abdul Majid and Aslam Parvez.
Union Parishad chairmen, government officials, freedom fighters, journalists, and representatives from various sectors also attended the meeting.
The meeting discussed several key issues, including ensuring adequate fuel supply through dealers, maintaining discipline in fuel collection, easing traffic congestion, and constructing a bus terminal.
Other decisions included ending New Year celebrations by evening, preventing extortion targeting watermelon traders, curbing drug use and gambling, and taking action to arrest those involved in a recent murder case in Lata.
