Paikgachha Hosts Primary Education Medal Competition

The National Primary Education Medal Competition was successfully held in Paikgachha on Thursday, showcasing the sporting and cultural talents of local students.

Organized jointly by the Upazila Administration and the Primary Education Office, the day-long event saw the participation of 462 students from 10 unions and one municipality. The students competed across 42 different sports and cultural categories.

The day's events were split between two venues. Khulna-6 Member of Parliament, Alhaj Maulana Abul Kalam Azad, inaugurated the sports competition as the chief guest during the morning session at the Upazila Parishad ground. In the afternoon, the cultural segments and closing ceremony took place at the Shaheed Gafur Government Primary School auditorium.

Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Wasiuzzaman Chowdhury presided over the prize distribution ceremony, where Upazila Education Officer Sanjay Debnath delivered the welcome address. Various local political figures, community leaders and head teachers attended as special guests to encourage the students.

The event concluded with UNO Chowdhury and Education Officer Debnath distributing prizes and certificates to the 126 winning students.
