The monthly meeting of the Paikgachha Upazila Law and Order Committee was held on Wednesday at the Upazila Parishad auditorium in Khulna’s Paikgachha upazila.

The meeting began at 3:30 pm and was chaired by Upazila Executive Officer Wasiuzzaman Chowdhury. Khulna-6 constituency MP Alhaj Maulana Abul Kalam Azad attended as the chief guest.

Among the special guests were Assistant Commissioner (Land) Fazle Rabbi, Upazila Health and Family Planning Officer Dr. Ahsanara Binte Ahmed, Upazila BNP Convener Dr. Md. Abdul Majid, Palli Bidyut Samity DGM Anjan Kumar Sarkar, OC (Operation) Zulfikar Ali, former freedom fighter commander Ruhul Amin Gazi, and Upazila Livestock Officer Dr. Partha Pratim Roy.

Representatives from political parties, local administration, education institutions, civil society, and the media also attended the meeting.

The meeting discussed several public safety and development issues, including maintaining fuel prices, constructing a power grid, establishing a mini stadium, setting up a fire service station and bus terminal, preventing drug abuse and gambling, stopping child marriage, controlling illegal sawmills, reducing traffic congestion, preventing rabies outbreaks, forming a community policing committee, and strengthening security at sacrificial animal markets.
