


Two men were seriously injured after unidentified attackers opened fire at a tea stall in Chatmohar.
The shooting occurred around 7:45 pm on Thursday (March 12) in the Lalon More area of Khatbari under Mulgram Union in the upazila.
The injured are Naeem Hossain, 40, son of Rezaul Karim of Khatbari Dakshinpara village, and Sajedul Islam, 42, son of the late Ramzan Ali. Both work as day labourers.
According to eyewitnesses and police, the two men were watching television at Razzak’s tea stall after iftar when three masked attackers suddenly opened fire and fled the scene.
Sajedul Islam was shot in the hand, while Naeem Hossain sustained a bullet injury in the lower abdomen. Both fell to the ground after being hit.
Local residents rushed them to Chatmohar Upazila Health Complex with severe bleeding. After receiving primary treatment, doctors referred them to Rajshahi Medical College Hospital as their condition worsened.
Dr. Khandaker Nafis Sadiq, an emergency medical officer at the health complex, said the victims were brought in with serious injuries and were sent to Rajshahi for advanced treatment.
Police said the motive behind the attack was not immediately clear. However, investigators suspect the shooting may be linked to a previous dispute.
Officer-in-Charge Golam Sarwar Hossain of Chatmohar Police Station confirmed the incident. He said police visited the scene and legal action is underway.
