


Awami League leader Sultan Mahmud Khan, chairman of Bhandara Union Parishad in Pabna Sadar, has been accused of various allegations including attacks, vandalism, and looting at Jamaat leaders' houses for holding a by-election.
The victim, Md. Zahid Hasan Musa, submitted a written complaint to Pabna Sadar Police Station on Saturday (February 14) afternoon. Earlier, this incident took place in Bhandara village on Friday (February 13) afternoon.
According to the complaint, a group of forces led by Union Parishad Chairman Sultan Mahmud Khan and his associate Alam went to the house of Md. Zahid Hasan Musa in Bhandara village on Friday afternoon, abused the female members in obscene language, attacked, vandalized and looted. The furniture in the house, including a TV, refrigerator, cupboard, motorcycle worth 8 lakh taka, was extensively vandalized. During this time, fish worth an estimated 8 lakh taka and gold ornaments worth 5.5 lakh taka were looted. Then an attempt was made to loot the cows in the cowshed. The forces also attacked, vandalized and looted the neighboring house of Yasin Ali. It is known that the people of these houses are living in fear of the terrorists. The attacks were carried out with domestic weapons, Chinese axes, and hockey sticks. These terrorists are still practicing in the area.
Victim Zahid Hasan Musa said, "Our house was looted and vandalized under the leadership of Awami League UP Chairman Sultan Mahmud Khan due to the election of scales. We voted for him and made him the chairman. But he has established a reign of terror in the area. The houses of our people are being attacked to create an unstable environment in the area. He demanded that he be arrested immediately and brought under the law."
When contacted to get his statement on this matter, Bhandara Union Parishad Chairman Sultan Mahmud Khan said, "I do not do politics of rice husks, I did not conduct elections of rice husks. I am being framed in this incident through a conspiracy. Come to the area and investigate."
Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Pabna Sadar Police Station Dulal Hossain said, "The scene has been inspected. Legal action will be taken in this regard."
