PIB Hosts Election Reporting Workshop for Pabna and Natore Journalists

The Press Institute Bangladesh (PIB) has launched a two-day training workshop on election reporting for journalists from Pabna and Natore districts.

The program was inaugurated on Sunday morning (January 25) at the Pabna Press Club. Akhtaruzzaman Akhtar, President of the Pabna Press Club, opened the session as the chief guest, emphasizing the importance of objective journalism during the upcoming electoral period.

The workshop aims to equip 50 local journalists with the tools necessary for ethical and accurate reporting. Key resource persons, including senior journalist Ziaur Rahman and PIB Trainer Zilhaj Uddin Nipun, led the discussions. Understanding electoral laws and codes of conduct. Combatting misinformation and artificial intelligence-generated rumors. Safe field reporting strategies.

The training will conclude on Monday, where certificates will be distributed to participants who successfully complete the sessions.
