


The 65th anniversary of the historic Pabna Press Club commenced Saturday with vibrant festivities and a colorful street procession.
The celebrations were inaugurated at 11:00 AM in front of the club premises by veteran freedom fighter and honorary life member Anjan Chowdhury Pintu, who released balloons and pigeons to mark the occasion.
High-profile attendees included Pabna-5 MP Advocate Shamsur Rahman Shimul Biswas, Pabna-2 MP AKM Selim Reza Habib, Zilla Parishad Administrator Zahurul Islam Bishu, and Superintendent of Police Anwar Zahid. They were joined by club president Akhtaruzzaman Akhtar, general secretary Zahurul Islam, and senior local journalists.
Following the inauguration, a procession featuring banners and musical instruments paraded through the city’s main thoroughfares.
Friendship Meeting 4:00 PM today at the District Shilpakala Academy. Land Minister Mizanur Rahman Minu will attend as chief guest, alongside State Minister for Social Welfare Farzana Sharmin Putul.
Grand Finale A family reunion, raffle draw, and prize distribution will be held Sunday evening (May 3) at the Press Club auditorium.
Established on May 1, 1961, the Pabna Press Club remains a prestigious institution. Beyond its professional contributions, the club is historically significant for its members' active participation in the Language Movement and the Liberation War of 1971.
