


Former MP and BNP central committee member Alhaj KM Anwarul Islam has announced that he will contest as an independent candidate in Pabna-3 constituency (Chatmohar-Bhangura-Faridpur).
He made this announcement in response to the demands of party leaders and activists at a view-sharing meeting at his residence on Saturday (December 20) night.
In the Pathanpara of Chatmohar Municipality Sadar, under the chairmanship of Municipal BNP General Secretary Touhidul Islam Taijul and under the guidance of Upazila Jubo Dal's former Joint Secretary Abdul Muttalib Pramanik, Upazila BNP's former Joint Convener Abdul Quddus Alo Master, former Organizing Secretary Nazir Sarkar, Co-Organizing Secretary Golzar Hossain, BNP Leader Mohabbat Member, Yasin Member, Dr. Saiful Islam, Dr. Zillur Rahman, Afzal Member, Shahidul Islam, Yahia Khan, Rabiul Karim, Kazi Khokon, Ariful Islam, Helal Hossain, Syed Chanu, Zahurul Islam Mikrail, Gaur Kundu, Dulal Sarkar, Fazlul Haque Mukul, and others spoke virtually.
In addition, Upazila BNP General Secretary and former Upazila Chairman Hasadul Islam Hira spoke virtually. The speakers urged former MP KM Anwarul Islam to work together to ensure victory as an independent candidate in the upcoming 13th National Parliament election.
KM Anwarul Islam said in his speech, I was elected MP twice and Upazila Chairman twice by the direct vote of the people. Now the people want me not to participate in the elections. In view of the people's demands, I have declared my candidacy. In my 60 years of political life, the general public has been looking forward to voting for me. They do not want any outside candidate. If the electoral and voting environment is favorable, my victory is certain, God willing. I was, am, and will be with you until my last breath.
Leaders of Chatmohar, Bhangura, Faridpur Upazila Municipal and Union BNP were present at the opinion exchange meeting organized by Chatmohar Upazila and Municipal BNP.
It is worth mentioning that the party nominated the candidate of BNP in Pabna-3 constituency to the president of the Central Krishak Dal, agriculturist Hasan Jafir Tuhin, and the general public of the three police stations erupted in demand for a local candidate. Earlier, protest marches, rallies, and torch processions were held under the leadership of KM Anwarul Islam and Hasadul Islam Hira to demand a local candidate.
