A Lakshmipur court has issued an arrest warrant for Liton Chandra Debnath, the suspended acting headmaster of Lakshmipur Girls' Vidyanyakan, over allegations of repeated forgery and fraud.
Debnath is accused of forging the signature of the school’s managing committee president, Matiul Quader, on critical official documents. Following the allegations, Debnath—son of Motilal Chandra Debnath from Purba Rajapur village in Chandraganj Upazila—was temporarily suspended from his position.
Debnath initially joined the school as an assistant teacher before being promoted to acting headmaster. His fraudulent activities reportedly came to light when he submitted election documents—including a resolution book and draft voter list for the managing committee—to the Sadar Upazila Executive Officer on October 13, 2025. President Matiul Quader discovered the submission and challenged the signature. The Upazila Secondary Education Officer verified the documents and confirmed the forgery.
Further investigations revealed a pattern of fraud. On October 21, Debnath allegedly forged Quader’s signature on Non-Government Teachers' Registration and Certification Authority (NTRCA) appointment letters and supplier applications submitted to the District Education Officer.
Later, on November 11, 2025, he again falsified the president's signature to recommend three NTRCA teachers—Subrata Mondal, Shakhayet Karim, and Mohammad Jamil Hasan—for appointments. These documents were sent to the District and Upazila Education Offices, as well as the Regional Education Office in Cumilla. Once the forgery was proven, the District Education Officer suspended the related Monthly Pay Order (MPO) processes.
In response to the repeated offenses, President Quader filed a case with the Additional Chief Judicial Magistrate's Court. The Criminal Investigation Department (CID) took over the inquiry. After CID Sub-Inspector Md. Nazrul Islam submitted a report confirming the allegations, the court officially issued the arrest warrant against Debnath.
