Agitated people have blocked the highway in Jhalakathi demanding the speedy arrest and exemplary trial of Osman Hadi's killers. When the blockade began on an important road in the district after Friday prayers on Friday, hundreds of vehicles got stuck on the road. This caused extreme suffering to the passengers and created a severe traffic jam and tense situation in the entire area.

Eyewitnesses said that the blockade program was held with the participation of the family, relatives and local residents of the deceased Osman Hadi. They took positions on the road, burned tires and raised various slogans demanding that the killers be brought to justice as soon as possible. The protesters alleged that they are disappointed and angry that the main accused have not been arrested even after a long time since the incident.

As a result of the blockade, buses, trucks, cargo vehicles and private cars plying on the Jhalokati-Barisal route were stuck for a long time. Many passengers were forced to sit on the road for hours. Those traveling for urgent work were also in trouble.

Upon receiving the information, senior police and administration officials arrived at the scene and tried to control the situation. They spoke to the protesters and assured them of taking legal action. However, the protesters made it clear that they would not withdraw the program until they saw visible progress in the arrest and trial of the murderers.

In this regard, a responsible official of the local administration said, “The incident is being investigated seriously. Law enforcement is working to identify the culprits and bring them to justice quickly.”

As of last news, the Barisal-Jhalokati and Pirezpur highways are closed for vehicular traffic. Additional police have been deployed to control the situation.
