Nageshwari celebrates Victory Day with due dignity

The Victory Day was celebrated with due dignity in Nageshwari, Kurigram through various arrangements. At sunrise, the Central Victory Memorial was fired 31 times and the Upazila administration, Thana Police and various political and social organizations paid tribute to the brave martyrs of the Great Liberation War and laid wreaths at the Victory Monument.

On this occasion, at 10 am, the newly appointed Upazila Executive Officer Sharmin Jahan Luna inaugurated the parade and display by releasing white pigeons and balloons at the DM Academy Football Field. Later, the parade and display were organized by the Thana Police, Ansar Battalion, Fire Service Defense, and various educational institutions under the leadership of Nageshwari Press Club President Omar Faruk and Nageshwari Government College Bengali lecturer Rezaul Karim Reza.

At the end, prizes were given to the winners of various events including quiz, recitation and essay competitions. In addition, a floral reception was given to the brave freedom fighters and their families in the afternoon and a discussion meeting was held.

Upazila Executive Officer Sharmin Jahan Luna, Assistant Commissioner (Land) Badruzzaman Rishad, Upazila BNP Convener Golam Rasul Raja, Agriculture Officer Shahriar Hossain, Senior Fisheries Officer Shahadat Hossain, Officer-in-Charge Abdullahil Zaman, Primary Education Officer Lutfar Rahman, Secondary Education Officer Kamrul Islam, Project Implementation Officer Mofakhkharul Islam, BRDB Officer Golam Mostafa, Public Health Deputy Assistant Engineer Firoz Kabir and many others spoke in the event.
