Barrister AKM Kamruzzaman Zaman, who serves as the legal advisor to Tarique Rahman, the acting chairman and vice-president of UK BNP, has been awarded the BNP's party nomination for the Dinajpur-5 (Phulbari-Parbatipur) constituency.

This announcement was made by BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir on Thursday afternoon. The confirmation came from Principal Khurshid Alam Moti, the President of Phulbari Upazila BNP and former Upazila Chairman.

Since the day following the nomination, there has been a wave of excitement among the grassroots BNP leaders and activists within the Dinajpur-5 constituency. Political analysts are optimistic that this nomination could pave the way for healthier political dynamics in the region.

Nazmul Haque Nazim, the Upazila BNP Vice President and former Upazila Vice Chairman, remarked, “Barrister Kamruzzaman Zaman is a close ally and legal advisor to BNP Acting Chairman Tarique Rahman. His nomination, being a qualified individual, will further enhance development and organizational strength in the area.”

Abu Shahid, the Acting Principal of Madila Hat College and President of the Phulbari Press Club, stated, “The nomination of Barrister Kamruzzaman Zaman marks the beginning of a new era of healthy politics in this region. This nomination is crucial in curbing the irregularities perpetrated by a group misusing the BNP name after August 5, 2024.”

Principal Khurshid Alam Moti, President of Phulbari Upazila BNP, urged everyone to set aside their differences within the party and unite to further bolster the party under the leadership of Begum Khaleda Zia and Tarique Rahman.
