A BNP leader named Abul Kalam Zahir (50) was brutally murdered by assailants in Chandraganj, Lakshmipur. His body is sprawled on the road. Bullet casings were found beside the body.

The event occurred at approximately 8:30 pm on Saturday (November 15) in the village of Paschim Latifpur, located within the Chandraganj union of Sadar upazila.

The late Zahir served as the general secretary of Ward No. 8 BNP in the Chandraganj union.

According to police and local sources, assailants attacked Zahir on the road near Mostafa's shop in Paschim Latifpur village. He succumbed to his injuries at the scene. Zahir had previously been involved in the drug and soil trade but was attempting to lead a normal life.
