


State Minister for Fisheries and Livestock Sultan Salauddin Tuku urged students to combine academic excellence with human values, skills and patriotism to become worthy citizens who will lead the nation.
He made these remarks on Friday morning at the 'Meritorious Student Reception-2026' held at Bindubashini Government Boys' High School in Tangail. During his personally initiated event the State Minister honored 850 students from Sadar Upazila who recently achieved GPA-5.
State Minister for Fisheries and Livestock advised the youth to dream big and work hard while strictly steering clear of drugs, terrorism and juvenile gangs. “The future generation must play a pivotal role in building a safe and peaceful society” he emphasized.
Responding to journalists regarding an upcoming 'long march' by an 11-party political alliance, Sultan Salauddin Tuku noted that organizing programs is a democratic right but the public will ultimately judge their validity. He also criticized the previous government for bringing the country's oil and gas sector to the brink of ruin also stating that the current administration is actively working to revive it.
The reception provided valuable career guidance to the awarded students. Online educator Fahad Hossain, BUET admission topper Meftaul Alam Siam and medical admission topper Jahangir Alam Shanto shared strategies for academic and professional success.
Local dignitaries including senior police officials, educators and former political leaders attended the ceremony. The event concluded with the distribution of certificates, crests and gifts to the students, followed by a raffle draw.
