The England football team has run into major trouble just three days before starting their 2026 World Cup campaign. Key training equipment was stolen while being transported to their base camp in Kansas City.
The team arrived in Kansas City on Saturday after wrapping up their pre-World Cup training camp in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida, on Thursday.
According to ESPN sources, the Football Association’s (FA) logistics team discovered the theft while unloading a van at their new base in the Swope Soccer Village. Several training kits and essential items were missing. The FA is currently assessing the exact inventory of the stolen goods.
The Kansas City Missouri Police Department confirmed the incident in an official statement: "We are investigating the possible theft of equipment from a team vehicle. When the vehicle arrived in Kansas City, it was discovered that some items were missing."
Local police have already arrested two suspects in connection with the theft, and the investigation is ongoing.
Despite the setback, England is scheduled to proceed with a community training session on Saturday afternoon. The Three Lions will kick off their World Cup mission next Wednesday against Croatia in a Group L clash in Dallas.
