On January 30, BNP Chairman Tarique Rahman addressed a massive roadside rally at the Mokamtola bus stand in Shibganj, Bogura.
During his speech, he called upon the electorate to vote for the "sheaf of paddy" symbol in the upcoming national election, asserting that a decisive victory would reaffirm Bogura’s long-standing reputation as a BNP stronghold.
Rahman emphasized the party's track record, stating that during its previous tenures, the BNP consistently prioritized both national and local development based on a popular mandate. The rally also featured a speech by Mir Shahe Alam, the BNP-nominated candidate for the Bogura-2 (Shibganj) constituency.
Before arriving at the rally and proceeding toward Rangpur, Tarique Rahman visited the historic shrine of Hazrat Shah Sultan Balkhi Mahisawar (RA) at Mahasthangarh to offer prayers.
This visit is part of a broader campaign tour aimed at galvanizing the party's grassroots base in Northern Bangladesh.
By highlighting past governance achievements, the BNP leadership is attempting to pivot the campaign focus toward infrastructure and economic growth.
Local authorities reported a significant turnout at the Shibganj rally, reflecting the intense political temperature in the region ahead of the polls.
