Nominations of 3 people in Pabna-1 constituency declared invalid, 4 declared valid

After the scrutiny of nomination papers of 3 people in 68 Pabna-1 (Santhia) constituency on Monday (January 19), the Returning Officer has declared the nomination papers of 4 people valid and 3 people invalid.

It is learned that the scrutiny of nomination papers of 68, Pabna 1 (Santhia) constituency began on Monday afternoon in the presence of candidates in the conference room of the district administration under the chairmanship of Pabna Deputy Commissioner and Returning Officer Shahed Mostafa. After the scrutiny, Returning Officer Shahed Mostafa declared the nominations of Khairunnahar Khanam Miru, Masudul Haque Masud and Tajul Islam, who submitted nominations for this constituency, cancelled. At that time, he declared the nominations of Jamaat candidate Nazibur Rahman Momen, BNP candidate Shamsur Rahman, Islami Andolon's Abdul Gani and independent candidate Professor Abu Sayyid valid for Pabna 1 constituency.

It is worth noting that in light of the verdict of the Appellate Division of the Supreme Court, the candidates of the two mentioned constituencies re-filed their nomination papers in the wake of the re-scheduling of Pabna 1 and Pabna 2 constituencies by the Election Commission.
