Defying biting cold and wind, activists of Inquilab Moncho continued their sit-in protest at the Shahbagh intersection on Friday night, demanding the immediate arrest and trial of those responsible for the murder of Sharif Osman bin Hadi.
The protest, which began at 2:00 PM on Friday, remained steadfast throughout the night. Abdullah Al Jaber, the platform’s member secretary, declared that the blockade would persist until every individual involved in the planning and execution of Hadi’s murder is brought to justice.
In a poignant gesture, the protesters utilized blankets Hadi had purchased for the poor before his death to stay warm, intending to distribute them to the destitute once the program concludes. Addressing the upcoming Dhaka University admission tests scheduled for Saturday, Al Jaber assured that while the blockade remains, the Moncho will assist students in reaching their exam centers starting from 9:00 AM.
Sharif Osman bin Hadi was a prominent figure in the July uprising and a vocal critic of the ousted Awami League regime. His sudden murder has sparked nationwide outrage, leading to the current series of demonstrations by the Inquilab Moncho.
