Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) detained more than 100 people from the headquarters of the Jatiya Samajtantrik Dal (Jasad) at GPO Mor in Gulistan on Saturday (September 26).
Police said they were verifying whether any of those detained were members or activists of the banned Awami League.
The detainees were taken into custody during a raid in the Jasad office area at around 2:30pm.
According to police, the people detained were holding a meeting at the Jasad headquarters. Authorities are currently checking their identities to determine whether any members or activists of the banned Awami League were among them.
Police have not yet provided further details about the operation.
