Gang-Rape Case Fugitive Arrested in Chattogram

Special Response Battalion (SRB-7) has arrested Md. Mansur (41), a fugitive accused in a 2020 gang-rape case during a drive in the city’s Pahartali area.

Law enforcers conducted the raid around on Thursday in Loharpul Saraipara following a tip-off, SRB-7 confirmed in a press statement on Saturday.

Mansur, son of Nurul Alam from East Chanpur in Bhujpur, had been absconding in connection with a case filed at Bhujpur Police Station under Sections 9(3) and 30 of the Women and Children Repression Prevention Act, 2000.

Assistant Superintendent of Police ARM Mozaffar Hossain, Assistant Director (Media) of SRB-7, stated that the arrested suspect has been handed over to Bhujpur Police Station for further legal proceedings.
