Khagrachhari-298 MP and chairman of the Parliamentary Standing Committee on the Ministry of Chittagong Hill Tracts Affairs Abdul Wadud Bhuiyan inspected several unfinished and abandoned development projects in Ramgarh on Friday (September 25).
It was his first official visit to Ramgarh since the BNP formed the government following the 13th National Parliamentary Election in 2026. During the visit, he inspected various development projects initiated during the BNP government’s tenure from 2001 to 2006.
As part of the visit, Wadud Bhuiyan inspected an abandoned residential school building constructed by the Chittagong Hill Tracts Development Board in Nurpur area of Ramgarh Sadar Union, near Taichala Para.
He toured the dilapidated building, which has remained neglected, and sought information from the relevant officials about its current condition and other related matters.
He also inspected the unfinished Town Hall building adjacent to Ramgarh Central Cemetery and Ramgarh Lake.
Later in the evening, he attended a meeting with leaders of the Ramgarh Upazila and municipal BNP, as well as leaders and activists of affiliated and associate organisations, at the Shilpi Community Centre. The meeting was organised by the Ramgarh Upazila and municipal BNP units.
At night, he held an exchange of views with members of the Sanatan community at the invitation of the management committee of Ramgarh Shri Shri Dakshineshwari Kalibari.
Among those accompanying him during the Ramgarh visit were Chittagong Hill Tracts Development Board Chairman Major General (retd) Anupam Kumar Chakma, NDC, PSC; Vice Chairman and Khagrachhari District BNP joint secretary Advocate Abdul Malek Mintu; District BNP Vice President Hafez Ahmed Bhuiyan; Upazila BNP President Jasim Uddin and General Secretary Safayet Morshed Bhuiyan Mithu; Municipal BNP President Bahar Uddin and General Secretary Shefayet Ullah, along with other district, upazila and municipal BNP leaders and activists.
Current public records identify Abdul Wadud Bhuiyan as the MP for Khagrachhari and a BNP leader.
