The Pakistan government has announced another significant increase in fuel prices, pushing both petrol and high-speed diesel (HSD) beyond the Rs 414 per liter mark.

According to a notification issued by the Petroleum Department, the price of petrol has been raised by Rs 14.92 per liter, bringing the new rate to Rs 414.78. Similarly, the price of high-speed diesel rose by Rs 15, bringing it to Rs 414.58 per liter.

These new rates took effect at midnight on Friday, May 8, 2026.

This latest hike follows a previous price adjustment on April 30, where petrol rose by Rs 6.51 and diesel by Rs 19.39. The continuous surge in fuel costs is expected to put further inflationary pressure on the public.
