


Nurul Haque Nur, President of the People's Rights Council and BNP-nominated candidate for Patuakhali-3, cast his vote for the first time in his life today.
The former DUCSU VP exercised his franchise at the Galachipa Model Government Secondary School center at approximately 8:45 AM on Thursday. Speaking to reporters, the 33-year-old expressed his excitement at both debuting as a voter and appearing on the ballot in the same election.
"This first vote will be memorable because I am also a contender for this constituency," Nur said. "After a long time, the people are seeing a participatory and festive atmosphere. This is a significant achievement for our democracy."
Nur described the environment as peaceful and noted high voter enthusiasm across Patuakhali’s four constituencies. He expressed hope that the final results would accurately reflect the mandate of the local people and encourage the younger generation to engage more deeply with the democratic process.
District Election Overview According to official statistics, Patuakhali district hosts 1,509,589 voters across four constituencies (761,986 male, 747,585 female, and 18 third-gender voters).
Voting is currently underway across 513 permanent and 246 temporary polling stations spanning eight upazilas and five municipalities. Local administration confirmed that comprehensive security measures are in place to ensure a smooth process. The District Election Officer reported a satisfactory voting pace with no major incidents.
