A Doa Mahfil was organized in remembrance of the late Zafrul Islam Chowdhury, a former minister, in Bashkhali.

On the occasion of the third anniversary of his passing, a Khatme Quran and Doa Mahfil took place in Bashkhali, Chittagong. Zafrul Islam Chowdhury served as the former State Minister for Forest and Environment during the BNP government and was also the former president of the Chittagong South District BNP.

The Doa Mahfil occurred on Sunday (November 9) after Asr at the Jame Mosque of Chambal Khadijatul Kobra Madrasa in Bashkhali Upazila, initiated by the Chambal Union BNP and its associated organizations. Following the prayer session, Tabarak was distributed to the Muslims and orphans in attendance.

Present at the event were several notable figures, including SM Abdur Rashid, the former Youth Affairs Secretary of Bashkhali Upazila BNP, Sarwar Alam, Vice-President of Upazila Sramik Dal, Hasan Mohammad Ershadur Rahman, a leader of Upazila Juba Dal, Abdul Hakim, Deputy General Secretary of Upazila Sramik Dal, Md. Abdur Rahim, General Secretary of Chambal Union Sramik Dal, along with BNP leaders Muhammad Mozammel, Aziz Ahmed, labor leaders Khorshed and Sohel Chowdhury, and various leaders and activists from Chambal Union BNP and its allied organizations.
